hobby Colorobbia, the colours of Europe.

Colours, glazes, bisque, clays and equipment.

Hobby Ceramicraft were appointed sole Authorised Distributors for the U.K. and Ireland in 1997. After over a decade of using and learning all about American Hobby Ceramic materials, Jane and John were deeply impressed when we were first invited to visit Montelupo and to test and use this 'new to us' product range.
The Bitossi family have some slight experience of ceramics, they trace their ceramic ancestry back to the 15th century where they were kiln owners in Montelupo. There they have remained ever since, growing, providing employment, and all the time making fine ceramics and ceramic materials.
The present Colorobbia company came into being during the 20th century and is now a vast multinational industry, but the roots remain strongly planted in Italy.
Colorobbia does not just mix colours, but are involved in mining raw materials and subsequent refining, the manufacture of highly sophisticated products used in the grinding and milling processes, the manufacture of frits, precious metal lustres, clay blends and slips, and much more.
The group makes finished ceramics from tiles and housewares, to artistic pottery and lamps from the famous Flavia works. They truly understand the colour, practice and art of ceramics in all its forms.
The hobby Colorobbia division is the baby of the family. Formed to bring the art and magic of making Ceramics within  reach of the man and woman in the street, it comes with all the wealth of products, colours, skills and knowledge of the parent company as its pedigree.
There is no doubt that Colorobbia products are slightly different to the American products in some ways. The astounding brilliance of the fired colours is self evident. At Hobby Ceramicraft we constantly try, test and teach the usage of the whole hobby range, so that our customers can also achieve the same stunning effects.
Our unique U.K.  2 day Ceramic Cafe / Pottery Party course  teaches how to use hobby Colorobbia products, (including their outstanding Italian Bisque).
Eventually we shall have techniques for you on this site, but meanwhile you will find Bruce Locke and his team on the American site, where there are tips, ideas and news, as well as an online U.S.certification course. (We can supply materials if you wish to try this course, but some colours we stock in larger sizes.) note down the web address:-  www.hobbycolorobbia.com
