Our Customers Amazing Us!

Stunningly gorgeous entries to  a competition we held a while back. The results were published here, and have drawn so much comment that we have left the page up as an example of what our colour products can do in the hands of an enthusiastic ceramist.

All the entrants used Colorobbia reds as it happens.
We are proud of all of you!1st Place Rita Bennett
Artist Notes: Colorobbia Bisque MHC 0719 Hand slip trailed. Used all Colorobbia colours, Florentines and Engobes.
The use of Pink and Red in the Magnolias to show the contrast you can obtain with the use of Reds and blending. Brushwork:- Blending, Banding and floats of colour for shade and dimension.

Lalla Ward Dawkins Artists Notes; hobby Colorrobia Bisque MHC0172, using Engobe Laquer Red and (shells) Dark Red, plus all other HC engobes and black Bisque Stroke. The shells are gloss-glazed on a matt-glazed background (just for the fun of it!).

Mary Clarke. Artists Notes;  hobby colorobbia bisque MHC657. I used Arctic White glaze x 2 coats, then Colorobbia engobes, scraffito detail, then 1 coat clear glaze. (scraffito with porcupine quill picked up on roadside in Montelupo, Italy!)

Three inspiring examples of greatly differing uses of the outstanding reds first introduced by Colorobbia to the industry two years ago. Now you also have the choice of the brilliant new Mayco Stroke and Coat reds, but the Engobe HC611 is still unsurpassed for solid opaque underglaze coverage.

The prizes awarded were 3 limited edition plates from Montelupo, Italy.

An accurate reproduction by "Manifattura Ceramica Artistica Flavia" (one of the famous art potteries owned by Gruppo Colorobbia of Montelupo Fiorentino, Italy), of an original 17th century piece.
The bright colours are typical of the Harlequins ("Arlecchini") of Montelupo.
Presented in a fabric lined slip case, each with a numbered authenticity slip as one of a limited edition of 100, and typical of the unique ceramic art of XV11 century Montelupo.
Similar examples can be found in the ceramic collections of leading museums worldwide. Hobby Ceramicraft is deeply indepted to Guido Bittossi of Colorobbia for his generous donation of these beautiful and valuable plates.
