'HBT' is our 'Hobbitalia Bisque'
Our own massive range of Hobbitalia Bisque is specially made for us in Italy by small independant producers (mostly family run) who we have developed a close relationship with over many years, controlling the quality and consistancy of all items produced. Our aim with the Hobbitalia bisque is to be able to offer a very price competitive range, whilst sacrificing none of the quality on which we have built our name as the leading U.K. professionals' supplier.
A respectable percentage of the 'Plain' items we sell as core items to busy studios come from theses suppliers. Buying these important pieces from a European producer gives us the security of never being more than a 2-3 day delivery away from replenishing a low stock situation.
Compatability of the bisque to the glaze is a factor that we need not be concerned about with the Italian producers we use, as the same company who manufacturers the glaze, also manufacturers the clay!
'MB' stands for Mayco Bisque

We are proud to keep our hands dirty, manufacturing onsite a range of popular and exlusive shapes. Whenever we have a shape that we feel would not be viable to outsource, we simply nip out the back and make it ourself! We have both the know how and the resources on hand to sculpt, mould, and manufacture; this has the added benefit of ensuring replacement stock is no more than a few days in production away.
Everything we produce is made from a dense, pure Italian Clay, fired to a perfect fir for our market leading Clear Glaze.
We hold massive stocks of bisque ready for fast despatch; we regularly use, and test samples of finished pieces, as well as train studio owners in the best usage in their business. Extensive tests with all the major colour lines available prove our bisques' compatibility with them. Our strong recommendation however, is to choose both Colour brand and Glaze carefully, we have chosen to sell the Worlds most popular Cafe colour line, Mayco Stroke and Coat, non-toxic, vibrant, stable, simple to use..., uber-versatile!n As for the glaze, well
we don't like to brag, but we lead the market away from 'lead' (!) introducing our 'Lead-Free' wonder-glaze many years ahead of the trend, laying the foundation for what you see now as an almost completely 'Lead-Free' marketplace.
