We are often asked for something stronger then the earthenware ceramic bisque
sold by ALL Suppliers for Cafe and studio use. Hobby Ceramicraft already insist
on a premium Colorobbia clay body for virtually all our earthenware bisque,
and that really is the best there is, eartheware is certainly not China clay
that you use in your everyday home ware, that has too many problems to use
in a studio situation.
There is though an alternative.
Stoneware Bisque is strong, durable, chip resistant, oven freezer and microwave
friendly. Wonderful! Just what we need!
Well we think so, but; (and there is always a but!), but it
is more expensive, and it is slightly tinted a soft golden shade. We find
this quite appealling.
Stroke and Coat is used on it in the normal way, but then there is no need
to cover glaze, (saves you time and glaze), just simply fired in the normal
way.
Hobby Ceramicraft have introduced a small range of this Stoneware bisque
for you to try, and strongly recommend you do just that. If the demand
is there we would be delighted to increase the range, so give it a try.
Ceramic Bisque boxes cannisters and heart shapes.
If you are a new studio just starting , knowing what bisque to choose beyond
the obvious plates and dishes is often a problem. All the items on this
page are a brillant choice. being plain they are so versatile, suitable for
customers of all ages, shapes and sizes! Whilst a cute little pony piece is
only ever just that, usually painted brown in 15-20 minutes, a plain box
calls for ideas and creativity, giving much greater satisfaction in the end.
Ceramic Bisque heart shapes sell ALL THE TIME, not just February.
