Hobby Ceramicraft take great pride in our long history of spreading knowledge
of the magic of ceramics!
Firstly with our teaching of the original truly U.K. Certification
Course on the craft of Hobby Ceramics, and then with the first U.K. specialised
courses for the Ceramic Cafes, Contemporary Studios, and the Pottery Party
people as these industries grew and spread over here.
Since our very first year in business, we have supported these premier
training events with a series of unique one and two day activities where
you can come along and learn more about a particular aspect of the business,
or try out some new (or old!) techniques from the scores of exciting
and fascinating ones we can show you. The first 8 parts of last years 2006 programme
culminated in the spectacular and innovative May Convention, featuring leading
Italian artists teaching for the first time in the U.K. Places were
sold out long before the event, a taste of this very different experience
is shown below.
Planning a new and varied programme for each year with something
to suit all tastes and skill levels is a challenge, and we are always working on the next parts of the list
is a permanently on-going task; latest listed events are shown on a page
from the current newsletter; reproduced at bottom of this screen.

Whilst our philosophy is to teach using the very best of British
and European teachers skills and experience for our European customers,
(we believe our tastes do differ from the American more "cutsie"
ones), nevertheless occasional leading American guest visits are arranged.
2006 May Convention:- A Hobby Ceramicraft Event.
Refreshed after a satisfying lunch, and ready to attack
the afternoon session!
Jane and Matthew at each end, our guests are:- standing Roberto and Simone,
Marino kneeling.
Just a taste of a few moments
from three days of excitement, fun, exploration and creation.
Our participants anonymous critique sheets made us positively blush
with the praise and high marks they heaped upon us.
This event was certainly in a different class, glad you liked it!
