John Sheppard 1938 - 2011

Our Fantastic and Inspirational Father, John Sheppard; the co-founder of Hobby Ceramicraft, died very suddenly on the 29th of December 2011. He lived and breathed ceramics, and even after his retirement in 2005 he continued to keep abreast of the latest movements in the industry. Perhaps this was also his way of keeping an eye on his kids, making sure they did not mess up his business!

Some of you who were trading before 2005 may remember John, his strong views, and passion for the creative process of ceramics were an inspiration to many starting their new business in this craft.

He was enjoying his 'happily ever after' in retirement on the Isle of Wight with his wife, Barbara. He was a huge influence on both of us. Grandfather of Jane's 2 girls and Matthew's 3 boys.

We both miss him very much.
If we die being loved half as much by our kids as he was by his, we would ask for nothing more.
